«BD Hiragana Kuro» free opentype font added on Typedifferent.com

We are happy to announce that the home of Büro Destruct fonts «Typedifferent.com» got a redesign and just went live today!

Along with a much better browsing experience of all the BD fonts created during 1995 – 2011, the two new fonts «BD Telegraph» and «BD Ragout (free)» are now available.

BD Music artworks and Balduin track «Büro Discotec» in the «Design For Music» – Pictographic Index 2 Book edited and compiled by Hans Lijklema for The Pepin Press.

The book presents a selection of the very best music-related design and illustration being done today: concert posters, album covers, band logos and other work. Included are several interviews with renowned artists – including Rudy VanderLans, Jorge Alderete, Rian Hughes, Invisible Creature and Martin Andersen – about their work and their relationship to music.

The theme is complemented by the inclusion of a free music CD with 12 tracks by artists featured in the book.

There are so many issues with smoking ordinary cigarettes these days that the latest generation of «Electronic Cigarettes» just seem to make a lot of sense to smokers – as it does to some here at BD quit smoking pyro-cigarettes. We thought to give this interesting device an appropriate icon – generally speaking: «E-Smokers Welcome».

By popular demand we just updated the «BD VintageFoto droplets» to work with Adobe Photoshop CS5 and higher on Mac OS X Lion (native code for Intel processors). Next to the two classics “Green” and “Red” we added a new “Cool” droplet.

Typeradio invited us to design the sleeve of «Music for Adrian Frutiger» Supercity 7″ vinyl single which is part of the «TypeLegends» 4 singles box presented at the upcoming «Now we are talking Festival».

Editorial design of Form:uLA, Bryan Cantley’s «MECHUDZU» – New Rhetorics for Architecture book. Published in the RIEA book series by Springer.

The work of Bryan Cantley, and his firm, Form:uLA, based in Los Angeles, is intended to be confounding – a practice that is a theory, a theory of practice, practice as theory. Cantley’s work is part of the permanent collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. This book documents Cantley’s work, lavishly illustrated and combined with congenial essays by acknowledged experts as there are Aaron Betsky, Dora Epstein Jones, Ruth Keffer, Wes Jones + Doug Jackson and Neil Spiller.
